Geagea calls on government to take action in case of Lebanese detainees in Syrian jails

The leader of the Lebanese Forces Samir Geagea regretted Tuesday the situation of the families of the Lebanese detainees in Syrian jails, calling on them not to lose hope and stressing the need to finalize the case.

During his meeting with a delegation of the families of the Lebanese detainees in Syrian jails, Geagea called on the Lebanese government not to discriminate between the prisoners released from Syrian jails and those released from Israel, stressing the need to pass the draft law presented by the Lebanese Forces bloc in order to offer compensations to the freed prisoners.

In this context, Geagea vowed to follow up on this case once the Syrian conflict ends, calling on the government to take action in this regard, “since the state is for all the Lebanese people, not limited to one faction,’ as he said.
