“100-day strike” kicks off at Roumieh prison

A number of inmates at Lebanon’s Roumieh prison kicked off what they called the “100-day strike” on Friday, to voice their rejection to the prison’s conditions, to call for general amnesty and to the reduction of the prison year to nine months.

683 inmates will go on hunger strike, and will refrain from getting into confrontations and from attending hearings.
