MP Saad Hariri: Hezbollah's Nasrallah seeks to "blind Lebanese public opinion"

Future movement leader MP Saad Hariri slammed on Thursday Hezbollah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah's speech delivered late on Wednesday, saying that the March 14 alliance will not take part in a government that covers Hezbollah's role in Syria.

He also accused Hezbollah of undermining national consensus reached through the Baabda Declaration.

Leaders from the March 8 and 14 alliances agreed to distance Lebanon from the region's crisis. However, Hezbollah sent its fighters to Syria to assist the regime troops against the rebels.

This comes as Nasrallah accused Saudi Arabia of asking March 14 to hinder the formation of a government in which Hezbollah is represented.

But Hariri slammed Nasrallah, saying in his statement that the Hezbollah Secretary-General “is seeking to blind the Lebanese public opinion.”

Prime Minister-designate Tammam Salam has so far been unable to form his cabinet due to conditions and counter conditions imposed by Lebanese rival leaders.
