Snowfall covers mountain peaks early this year

Snow fall covered hills and mountains above1,000 meters in several Lebanese regions on Friday night. Bekaa residents were surprised on Saturday morning when they woke up to find 4cm of the white stuff covering the region, especially the area of Zahle.

The annual precipitation reached 145 ml this year, while only 65 ml fell by this time last year.

The average annual precipitation is 140ml.
