Mass held to commemorate sixth anniversary of Tueni's death
A mass to commemorate the sixth anniversary of the assassination of MP Gebran Tueni is being held in St. Georgios Church for the Roman Orthodox downtown Beirut. A number of political figures and religious men are participating in the mass.

In his sermon, Bishop Elias Aoude said that the nation is blessing bestowed by God, therefore it should be protected and guards with our souls. Bishop Aoude urged everyone to put Lebanon as their top priority, stressing that Gebran put Lebanon before his own life, giving the ultimate sacrifice for his country.

“Gebran’s dream lied in a unified country dearly held by his countrymen, strengthened by their efforts and made mighty by their creativity. Sadly we are before a country that holds no common grounds for its sons who are casting accusations against each other”.

Michelle Tueni also delivered a speech on behalf of Ghassan Tueni, Gebran’s father, in which she stressed the importance for justice to take its course.
At the end of the prayers, the family received condolences from the participants.
