Shatah to LBCI: Lebanon is going through a decisive, transition period

The consultant of Former PM Saad Hariri, Former Minister Mohammad Shatah warned on Friday that the Lebanon is going through a decisive, transition period pointing to the existence of a real issue due to neutrality failure using the country as a conflict zone.

In an interview with LBCI’s “Nharkom Saiid” show, Shatah said that Iran had true power in the Levant and a military presence referring to Hezbollah.

“We are now in an advanced level of danger therefore neutrality, its preservation and the implementation of Resolution 1701 are two important elements to deal with the threat on Lebanon,” he said.

Regarding the government, Shatah said that there was nothing such a "fait accompli" cabinet but one that is formed, tested through trust votes denying any relationship between the issue of the cabinet formation and the presidential elections.

In this regards, he assured that the Future Movement will support holding presidential elections and saw that it was still too early to nominate candidates.
