Bassil: electricity issue cannot be addressed from political perspective only

Energy Minister Gebran Bassil said on Friday that the electricity issue requires courage to tell the truth, adding that the issue cannot be addressed from a political perspective only.

During the opening of the 8th conference organized by Issam Fares Research Center and titled “sustained electricity for entire Lebanon”, Bassil said that Lebanon is facing a serious economic crisis that should be taken as a priority rather than dealing with it on the basis of “funds available or not.”

Bassil stressed that the solution for the electricity crisis lies in the electricity plan, adding that the plan is ready to be implemented at all levels.
