Syrian rocket attack draws LAF anti-aircraft fire

Three rockets fired from a Syrian chopper targeted on Monday the Arsal region of Kherbat Daoud, which drew anti-aircraft fire from the Lebanese Armed Forces.

Sources told LBCI that the Syrian warplane that launched rockets on the border town of Arsal attacked a delegation from the Syrian town of Flita.

The delegation was heading to Arsal to participate in a memorial service for Hassan Dokhan who was killed in an ambush in the Bekaa town of al-Labwe.

This as, three persons from Arsal were awaiting the Syrian delegation in the region of al-Rahwe near Wadi Hmeid when the Syrian chopper attacked them.

Shelling from the Syrian side also damaged other Lebanese border towns which have bore the brunt of the cross-border attacks.

This comes as a result of the fighting taking place in Syria between Syrian government troops and rebels seeking to overthrow President Bashar al-Assad.
