Soueid to LBCI: Hezbollah is demanding internal guarantees due to concerns over challenges

March 14 General-Secretariat Coordinator Fares Soueid said Sunday that Hezbollah is facing several legal and regional challenges due to the Special Tribunal for Lebanon and the developments on the Syrian scene, as well as the future of the negotiations held between the US and Iran. He added that Hezbollah is asking for internal guarantees to acquire national and constitutional legitimacy in order to be able to overcome these challenges.

In a statement to LBCI’s Nharkom Said, Soueid noted that Lebanon must achieve real gains when March 14 forces meet with Hezbollah after the latter withdraws from Syria and returns to Lebanon under Lebanese conditions.

On the issue of the cabinet, Soueid said that March 14 forces are holding serious and democratic discussions regarding the new cabinet, away from provocations and biddings, pointing out that the team is looking for the best solution to end the current crisis, especially amid the intimidation campaign launched against them.
