LF leader Geagea says Hariri's statement 'a good will gesture'

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea held a press conference on Saturday in Maarab whereby he stressed that his party will not participate in any cabinet that does not include “the slightest political change which could have a positive impact on the country".

Commenting on the latest statement of former Prime Minister Saad Hariri, Geagea said: "Hariri's statement is considered as a good will gesture, not a division among the March 14 coalition".

Hariri voiced on Friday his readiness to partake in a new coalition government with Hezbollah, noting that he is very "optimistic regarding the formation of such government."

Former PM Hariri's comments were made during an interview with Reuters on the sidelines of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon's deliberations in The Hague.

Geagea also said the ministerial statement should include the Baabda declaration and exclude anything related to the army-people-resistance formula or any equivalent article.
