LAF Intelligence arrests relative of Haret Hreik’s first suicide bomber

Sources confirmed to LBCI on Saturday that the Lebanese Army Intelligence arrested Khaled al-Satem, a relative of Qoutayba al-Satem who implemented Haret Hreik’s first suicide attack, on suspicion of being involved in the latest explosions.

Al-Satem's relatives also told LBCI that they had informed the Army Intelligence about his disappearance.

On Saturday the 4th of January, the Lebanese Armed Forces Command said DNA tests carried out on the body parts found at the crime scene in Haret Hreik confirmed that the suicide bomber is Qoutayba al-Satem.

Sources told LBCI that Qoutayba al-Satem had headed from Wadi Khaled to the Syrian town of Yabroud and went back to Lebanon where he carried out the bombing in Beirut's Southern Suburbs.

A powerful explosion shook southern Beirut, a stronghold of Hezbollah, on Thursday 2nd of January, killing at least 4 people and injuring over 77 others.

The explosion took place in al-Arid Street in Haret Hreik near Jawad restaurant only meters away from Hezbollah's political council, sources said.
