Gunmen rob money-changer in Tripoli's al Baddawi region

The state-run National News Agency reported on Tuesday that gunmen robbed a money changer in the al-Baddawi region in the northern city of Tripoli.

The agency reportedly added that the gunmen stole 30 million Syrian pounds and $600,000 from Bassam Samih al-Ayyoubi who was transferring money from his currency exchange shop in Syria to Lebanon's branch.

The armed men fled to an unknown location using al-Ayyoubi's car, which was located in a field in Tripoli.

They also set the car ablaze.

Al-Ayyoubi was transferred to the al-Mazloum hospital for treatment, while security forces opened an investigation into the incident.
