The Directorate General of Internal Security Forces issued a statement on Wednesday in which it said that the Inspection Unit at Beirut International Airport thwarted a smuggling attempt of around 30 thousand Captagon pills, weighing a total of 5.475 KG, hidden inside a specially designed suitcase belonging to a Syrian passenger (born in 1958).
The statement added that the passenger intended to smuggle the pills into an Arab state
The arrestee and the seized pills were referred to the Central Anti-drugs Bureau upon the request of the concerned authorities.
