Telecommunication Minister Harb: "People-Army-Resistance" formula no longer viable

Minister of Telecommunication Boutros Harb said on Monday that the People-Resistance-Army formula is no longer a viable option, reiterating the need to adhere to the Baabda Declaration.

Harb's comments were made during a phone call with LBCI's Nharkom Said TV show during which he noted that the majority of ministers are against the said principle, adding that the vote on the ministerial statement will bring forth a resolution to the matter.

He also stressed that he will deploy all possible efforts to ensure Lebanon's stability and sovereignty.

On another note, Harb concluded by saying that access to "telecom data is essential," adding that he will seek to find out whether the law is being implemented correctly in this regard.

The telecom data dispute stirs controversy between Lebanese leaders over the legality of providing the Internal Security Forces Intelligence Branch with the telecommunications records of the Lebanese people.
