Berri from Tehran: Islamic region needs unity and solidarity

Lebanese Speaker Nabih Berri stressed Monday that he has always supported the parliamentary diplomacy that can overcome the governmental requirements, noting that the Islamist region in general and the Arab region in particular need unity and solidarity among Muslims.

Upon his arrival to the Iranian capital to take part in the ninth session of the conference of member-states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Parliamentary Union, Berri noted that the Lebanese delegation will present a proposal during the conference which will be attended by dozens of speakers representing Arab and Islamic countries.

Berri explained that the said proposal concerns the establishment of an Islamic common market, pointing out that “the economic reconciliation can be the beginning of a long journey towards solidarity and cooperation among Muslims.”
