French ambassador Paoli invites President Sleiman to attend Paris summit

French ambassador to Lebanon Patrice Paoli extended an invitation to President Michel Sleiman, to attend the Paris summit due to open in the French capital on March 5-6, the state-run National News Agency reported on Saturday.

The summit aims to assist Lebanon on the political, economic and military levels and to help the country cope with the rising influx of Syrian refugees.

This comes as the International Support Group for Lebanon decided during a meeting held in September in New York, and upon the U.N. Security Council's instructions, to help Lebanon deal with the Syrian refugee issue.
