Hariri says Tripoli’s security plan proves that the state is capable
Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri praised the implementation of the security plan that aims at ending the fighting and chaos in the northern city of Tripoli and restoring calm and stability, noting that the outcome of the plan proved that the state is capable of imposing its authority and taking the lead across the Lebanese regions.

Hariri issued a statement on Thursday whereby he said that he is following up on the details of the implementation of the security plan, hoping that safety and security will soon return to Tripoli, “the city of coexistence and national will,” as he said.

“There is no doubt that the reconciliation reached on Wednesday between rival parties in Tripoli following the deployment of the Lebanese army across the streets, revealed the real image of the city that rejects armed clashes and civil strife,” the statement added.

In this context, Hariri hailed the efforts exerted by the interior and justice ministers, as well as the deputies of Tripoli and the civil society figures, in addition to the sacrifices of the Lebanese army and the Internal Security Forces who remain "keen on maintaining security and stability".

Similarly, Hariri praised the role played by the judicial authorities in taking the necessary legal measures against those who continue to breach security, commit crimes and tarnish the reputation of Tripoli.
