PM Salam says Lebanon will go through critical phase in the event of presidential vacuum
Prime Minister Tammam Salam warned on Saturday against a potential presidential vacuum, noting that Lebanon will go through a tough and critical phase in the event of a presidential void.

Salam also said he prefers a rational and moderate person, who would be accepted by all parties, to submit his candidacy for the presidency.

Separately, PM Salam stressed that the Lebanese government is committed to the dissociation policy, describing Hezbollah’s participation in the Syrian crisis as “a critical and uncomfortable issue”.

“All concerned parties should seek to address this issue in ways that honor the dissociation policy,” he added.
