Lebanese cabinet holds last session under Sleiman’s term
The Lebanese cabinet convened on Friday afternoon under the chairmanship of President Michel Sleiman at the Baabda Presidential Palace, in the last session during his term.

Following the ministerial session, Information Minister Ramzi Jreij said the cabinet formed an emergency committee to follow up on the conditions of Syrian refugees.

"The committee, headed by Prime Minister Tammam Salam, will adopt procedures to deal with the influx of refugees in cooperation with the concerned administrations," Jreij added.

On another note, the Lebanese cabinet failed, during Friday's session, to issue the appointments of the Lebanese University's deans and professors.

"The Lebanese University dossier was not tackled today since it needs to be dealt with carefully," Jreij said.

This comes after Finance Minister Ali Hassan Khalil said the main obstacle does not concern the university’s deans but the contract teachers whose number increased from 500 to one thousand.
