Rai says deputies should be held accountable for presidential void

Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Boutros Rai stated on Sunday that refraining from electing a president is a violation to Lebanon’s constitution, adding that this matter will disrupt the work of all institutions.

Rai said in his Homily that Lebanese deputies should be held accountable for void at the presidential level, stressing that they are depriving the state from a president who respects the constitution, protects the nation, and grants legitimacy to all institutions.
