Abu Faour: no favorable environment for al-Qaeda in Lebanon
The Minister of Social Affairs Wael Abu Faour said that accusing Lebanon of importing or exporting al-Qaeda to Syria is only speculation. Abu Faour called on all parties to refrain from using the security issue to launch a media war.

After an inspection tour of Rachaya, Abu Faour said that there is no favorable environment for al-Qaeda in Lebanon, adding that, “saying that a Lebanese region or group is an incubator for al-Qaeda is an exaggeration and exacerbates disputes between the Lebanese”.

Abu Faour denied what was recently said about the relations between the Progressive Socialist Party and Hezbollah going back to square one due to MP Walid Jumblatt’s latest positions. “Relations with Hezbollah are good; our leaders are in constant contact”.
