Jumblatt urges all parties to overcome political differences to protect Lebanon

The head of the Progressive Socialist Party MP Walid Jumblatt said Monday that, after the Arab region and the Middle East have fallen in the midst of wars and chaos, and after most of the Arab and regional borders of the Fertile Crescent region have vanished, it has become necessary to overcome the current political differences on the Lebanese level.

“We must seek unity in order to face these dangerous challenges and to protect the ‘State of Greater Lebanon of General Gouraud’ before it is too late,” he added.

In his weekly statement to al-Anbaa website, Jumblatt noted that the great changes and historical turns witnessed by the Arab region are unprecedented transformations, especially after the conflicts have taken a sectarian aspect.

“The Lebanese have to find a solution for their political issues and elect a new president as soon as possible to put an end to the state of presidential vacuum and institutional paralysis,” he stated, pointing out that the current situation is very delicate.
