Palestinian factions agree on deployment of security forces in Ain el-Hilweh camp
Palestinian factions in Lebanon agreed on Saturday to start the deployment of Palestinian security forces in the Ain el-Helweh refugee camp as of Tuesday.

The decision comes after a meeting took place at the headquarters of the Palestinian National Security Forces, with the participation of representatives of all Islamic and Palestinian factions in Lebanon.

Located near the southern city of Sidon, Ain el-Helweh is the largest Palestinian camp in Lebanon and  hosts about 50,000 refugees.

It is well known to harbor extremists and fugitives.

Tension frequently erupts in the camp due to armed disputes between the different Palestinian factions.
