Berri voices full support for Palestinian people

Speaker Nabih Berri said Saturday that the Palestinian Resistance is repeating the actions of the Lebanese Resistance in responding to the “Zionist aggression,” noting that the resistance is the sole result of occupation, aggression and continuous threat.

On the anniversary of the July war, Berri stressed that Lebanon completely supports the Palestinian people in their resistance to the crimes of the Israeli enemy, urging the Arab nations to focus their attention on the central cause, “which has always been and will remain the Palestinian cause,” as he said.

“Every conflict erupting in the region serves the interests of Israel, since it aims at destroying the capabilities and the unity of the Arab World,” he stated.

In July and August of 2006, the Israeli military pummeled Lebanese territories for 34 days, killing approximately 1200 people, most were civilians. Other casualties of the offensive included bridges, highways, homes, farmland, power plants, factories and other.
