PM Salam: Security plan ongoing without discrimination or exceptions
Prime Minister Tammam Salam stressed Sunday the importance of the State’s authority in the decision making process concerning security issues, noting that the government is determined to impose the rule of law across the Lebanese regions, without any discrimination.

During his meeting with a delegation of scholars and clerics from across the country, Salam expressed the cabinet’s keenness on maintaining the course of the security plan implemented in Tripoli, northern Bekaa and other regions, pointing out that any imbalance in the process will not be tolerated.

“The instructions given to the security apparatuses seek to impose the state’s authority in all the regions,” he stated.

On another note, Salam said that he is cooperating with the former prime ministers in order to deploy efforts to resolve the issue pertaining to the election of a new Mufti for the Republic, stressing that this issue is a matter of great importance.

“We will take the necessary and appropriate measures in a bid to protect the unity of the Sunnis in Lebanon,” he said.
