Harb: Sleiman, Berri and Mikati are likely to renew STL protocol

MP Boutros Harb told Voice of Lebanon radio station that the Lebanese government must convey to U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon its commitment to all United Nations resolutions pertaining to Lebanon.

"The visit of Ban to Lebanon is part of a tour by U.N. official to all the countries that are concerned with the Security Council resolutions. It is only natural that Ban pays a visit to Lebanon especially since the UNIFIL forces are coming under attacks and resolution 1701 is constantly violated," Harb said.

He stressed that the Lebanese state should reiterate its commitment to U.N. resolutions and to the Special Tribunal for Lebanon.

Harb stressed that Ban will discuss with Lebanese officials the renewal of the STL protocol which expires in the end of this month.

MP Harb added that the President Michel Sleiman, Speaker Nabih Berri and PM Najib Mikati are likely to renew during their meeting with Ban Lebanon's commitment to the tribunal and all U.N. resolutions.
