Katyusha rocket fired from Beit Lahya town lands in Hasbaya
The Lebanese Armed Forces command declared Friday that an unknown party fired a rocket from the outskirts of the Rashaya town of Beit Lahya, which landed inside the Lebanese territories in the vicinity of the town of Rashaya al-Fakhar in the district of Marjeyoun, without causing casualties.

The LAF statement noted that army units conducted patrols in both regions, and launched investigations into the incident in order to reveal the identities of the perpetrators.

In the details, the security measures implemented by the ninth regiment of the Lebanese Army and the tight search operations carried out at the checkpoints prevented the perpetrators from reaching the border region, leading them to fire the rocket from the town of Lahya.

Several rockets have been launched from south Lebanon in light of Israel's offensive on the Gaza Strip. There were six rockets fired in total from southern Lebanon in July, Lebanese security sources said. Two entered Israel, others fell into Lebanese territory and two more were intercepted.

An estimated 800 Palestinians, most of them civilians, have been killed in the offensive, which Israel says it launched to end persistent rocket attacks by Hamas on civilians. Some rockets have reached Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and other cities.
