Bou Saab expresses hope that parliament discuss pay scale dossier
Education Minister Elias Bou Saab stated on Friday that Lebanese University contract professors still have to provide around 290 thousand hours out of the required 590 thousand hours of education per annum.

Following a meeting with full-time professors at the LU, Minister Bou Saab stated that the names of professors who were recently granted permanent tenure will not be published in media outlets but may be checked via the resources of the ministry of education instead.

Minister Bou Saab added that Prime Minister Tammam Salam played a major role to resolve the issue of LU contract professors, pointing out that all Lebanese factions contributed to their full-time employment at the university.

On the issue of the series of ranks and salaries, Minister Bou Saab expressed his hope that parliament discuss the said issue during its upcoming session.

On Thursday (July 24) the cabinet approved the file pertaining to the Lebanese University, including the full-time employment for contract professors and the appointment of deans at the university’s various faculties.
