Lebanese Forces denounce cabinet’s failure to solve water shortage issue– LF press office
The press office of Lebanese Forces Chief Samir Geagea issued a statement on Tuesday denouncing the cabinet's failure to take any steps towards solving the water shortage issue, pointing out that the country started heading towards water shortage since the start of the winter season.

Commenting on the cabinet's most recent solution to the said issue, which stipulates that Lebanon buy water from Turkey, the statement said “this is a costly and temporary solution.”

“The water crisis is not the only conflict that Lebanon is facing,” the statement read, adding that the cabinet does not aim at implementing scientific solutions such as drilling artesian wells in coastal areas, or transferring sea water from rivers to pumping stations close to residential communities.

Lebanon has a severe water shortage crisis after a relatively dry winter.

Numerous Lebanese families rely on private suppliers for water for both drinking and domestic use.

In many areas across the country, the water shortage has led the local authorities to regulate supply to a very limited amount, with some villages receiving water only once per week.
