Fire erupts in South Lebanon town of Maghdouche

A huge fire erupted on Wednesday in the town of Maghdouche, in South Lebanon.

Reasons behind the fire remain unknown but civil defense units rushed to the scene in an effort to extinguish the flames.

Rise in temperatures bring fears over what is left of the country's forests. Forest fires have become an expected threat that come with the summer.

Last May thousands of acres were lost in an ancient forest in Lebanon's Baabda region. The slow response and inadequate equipment were said to be the main culprit for what was dubbed a great loss.
