Judge Sawan issues arrest warrants against 6 suspects affiliated with IS, al-Nusra Front
Military Examining Judge Fadi Sawan interrogated on Friday six suspects on charges of belonging to the Islamic State and the al-Nusra Front.

The six men hold Lebanese, Syrian and Palestinian nationalities, according to the state-run National News Agency.

The suspects were charged with attempts to carry out terrorist activities across Lebanese territories.

Judge Sawan issued arrest warrants against them that could lead to the death penalty if convicted.

Lebanon has become the scene of several deadly attacks since the start of the uprising in Syria, many of which target Hezbollah strongholds in the Bekaa and in the southern suburbs of Beirut.

The blasts were claimed by extremist groups that are opposed to Hezbollah's military involvement in Syria's war alongside President Bashar Assad's troops.
