EDL contract workers protest failure to grant them full-time employment
Contract workers at Electricite du Liban blocked on Saturday the road facing the company’s headquarters with burning tires to protest the failure to grant 1400 persons full-time employment at the company.

EDL contract workers have been protesting for months calling on the government to employ them as full-time staff and to pay their salaries.

Their protests have included shutting the gates of EDL headquarters in Beirut and disrupting normal work at the state-run company.
