UK's Fletcher: We will provide more support for the Lebanese army

"We, as Lebanon's allies, should think again, now more than any time before, about what could be done to back the country's efforts in maintaining stability and sovereignty," British ambassador to Lebanon Tom Fletcher said on Tuesday.

The ambassador's statements were made following talks with Minister of National Defense Samir Moqbel.

In this regard, Fletcher voiced the UK's willingness to provide more support for the Lebanese Armed Forces in terms of training and military equipment, and lauded the army's role in defending Lebanon and its citizens.
