Syrian child dies after being severely beaten by father

The Public Relations Division at the Internal Security Forces' General Directorate said on Thursday that 3-year-old Syrian child Mahmoud al-Fares died on August 9 as a result of cerebral hemorrhage and a bruised rib cage.

It was revealed that the child's father, Nawfal Khalif al-Fares, had severely beaten Mahmoud who was rushed to the Jeb Jennin hospital for treatment.

A week after the incident, the child succumbed to his wounds and his father was arrested.
