Judicial authorities ready to look into new release requests, apart from case of abducted soldiers – sources

Judicial sources reported Wednesday that the judicial authorities are ready to look into new requests to release detainees, but apart from the case of the abducted soldiers and in accordance with the law and the accusations against them.

The sources told LBCI that those who were supposed to be released in the case of the Islamist detainees were freed before the abduction of the LAF and ISF members by armed groups.

“We have a discretionary authority to shorten the period of some penalties issued against the convicts,” the sources continued.
