Maronite bishops denounce attempts to harm or undermine religious symbols
The Maronite bishops expressed Wednesday regret over the Parliament’s failure to hold a session and elect a new president, calling on the deputies to respect the Constitution, which stipulates that a president is a guarantee to the nation’s well-being.

During their monthly meeting at Diman, the bishops urged all the people to express support and solidarity with the abducted soldiers and their families, denouncing any attempt to harm or undermine religious symbols.

In this regard, the Maronite bishops urged the United Nations and the Security Council to take the necessary measures to restore peace to the region, declaring their rejection to all kinds of discrimination, persecution and murder practiced by extremist groups.
