LF leader Geagea urges cabinet to order Hezbollah's withdrawal from Syria
Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea held on Tuesday a press conference in Mehrab whereby he said that the country has been without a head of state since 122 days.

"Those who say the March 14 coalition is hurdling the presidential elections are asked to suggest what our alliance can do more in this regard," Geagea said.

"The reasons behind the failure to elect a new president are not linked to regional or international circumstances nor to disputes among the March 8 and 14 coalitions," he noted.

The LF leader also said he is still running for the presidential elections, noting that he is ready to hold dialogue over a new candidate.

"Obstructing presidential election sessions is a crime against Lebanon," he said, adding that this boycott may lead to the election of the "weakest" president in the history of the country.

Turning to the Arsal captives dossier, Geagea urged the cabinet to order the withdrawal of Hezbollah fighters from Syria, which "may pave the way for the release of kidnapped troops".

Also on Tuesday, Lebanese Forces leader Geagea ruled out holding parliamentary elections any time soon, noting that the cabinet has committed two violations in this regard.

"The electoral bodies were summoned only 24 hours before the end of the deadline, and a committee overseeing the elections has not been formed until present," Geagea told reporters.

"The situation in Lebanon requires in-depth solutions," Geagea said, calling on the citizens to elect their representatives according to their political programs.

He added that he has not yet received any answer regarding the presidential initiative that was launched by the March 14 coalition.
