LF's Geagea reiterates his support to the military institution
Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea reiterated on Monday his support to the military institution in its fight against terrorism and extremism.

Geagea's press office said that the latter contacted Lebanese Armed Forces Commander Major General Jean Kahwagi, informing him that all Lebanese citizens, mainly the residents of Tripoli and North Lebanon stand behind the army in its battle against terrorism.

According to the press office, Geagea expressed his hope that the Tripoli battle would be decisive and final to root out terrorists taking refuge in the city's markets and streets.

Clashes erupted in Tripoli between the army and militants on Friday (October 24), leaving scores of soldiers, civilians, and gunmen dead.

On Monday (October 27), the military operation that was launched by the Lebanese army in the northern city of Tripoli ended following the withdrawal of gunmen; however, LAF units remained deployed in Tripoli's Bab al-Tabbaneh.
