Geagea from Bkerke: We hope Iran's nuclear deal will alleviate regional tension

Lebanese Forces Chief Samir Geagea said "Good Friday coincided with a ‘great political and civil Friday’,” hoping that the nuclear agreement between Iran and the world powers will alleviate tension in the region.

Following his meeting with Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Boutros Rai in Bkerke, Geagea said that he informed the latter of the general political situation and the latest developments concerning the dialogue with the Free Patriotic Movement, stressing that they will continue the talks "until the end."

On another note, the LF chief called on all political forces to reconsider their stances and attend the parliamentary session to elect a new president.

Lebanon has been plunged into a presidential vacuum after Michel Sleiman's mandate ended on May 25, 2014 with rival political blocs still divided over a new leader.
