Finance Minister Ali Hassan Khalil stressed Monday that “discussions over regulating Public Finances and the general economic situation cannot be held without the passing of the new state budget,” noting that procrastinating this matter can no longer continue.
“We must take a final decision during the upcoming cabinet session in order to refer the budget draft law to the parliament as soon as possible,” he stated.
In the same context, Minister Khalil added that there are 11 pending international agreements and projects that will benefit the people and improve their living conditions, “but are threatened to be annulled should the parliament fail to legislate.”
“We are in the process of drafting a new law pertaining to the establishment of a court of customs,” he said.
