Army Intelligence unit arrests Nusra Front member linked to Arsal, Hermel bombings
The state-run National News Agency reported on Friday that a member of the al-Qaeda-affiliated al-Nusra Front group was arrested in the border town of Arsal for having links to several bombings that have taken place across Lebanon in recent months.

The agency identified the arrestee as Ahmed al-Atrash, also known as Nisr Arsal, who was apprehended by an army intelligence unit.

He is accused of transferring explosives-rigged cars that were used in attacks in Beirut's southern suburbs of Dahieh and the Bekaa area of al-Hermel.

He is also accused of being involved in battles against the Lebanese army.
