Lebanon’s Cardinal Rai pleads Maronites: “Hold on”

Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Boutros al-Rai said on Monday that “Maronites are not a minority in the East as they are indigenous people”.

In this regard, Rai addressed the Maronite community in countries reeling from crises, saying “hold on. We stand by you.”

“We are going through major difficulties as you know. We have lived with Muslims 1400 years in the East and all terror groups that threaten and kill are incompatible with this coexistence and come from outside the Middle East,” Cardinal Rai said.

“That’s why we will stay here to complete our mission with our Muslim brothers and spread the culture of moderation,” he added.
