Lebanese army clashes with wanted men in Brital, arrests one

The state-run National News Agency reported that the Lebanese army clashed on Friday in the district of Baalbek with suspects wanted for several crimes, including the kidnapping of citizen Marc al-Hajj Moussa.

The clashes erupted when the army was pursuing the armed men on the outskirts of the town of Brital, the agency added.

The army was able to apprehend a suspect wanted on kidnapping charges while two others managed to escape during the raids, the agency added.

Marc al-Hajj Moussa, 20, was kidnapped at dawn Thursday on a road in the Metn town of Mazraat Yashouh while heading to his home in Bikfaya.

His car, a Toyota Land Cruiser, was later found in the region of Majdel Tarshish.

Moussa is a student at the Balamand University.
