Minister Chehayeb says his plan could be the last chance of a solution for trash crisis
While the government is seeking to implement the plan proposed by Minister Akram Chehayeb to resolve the waste crisis, and which suggests the opening of landfill in Akkar’s Srar, a meeting was held at Beirut International Exhibition & Leisure Center (BIEL) in downtown Beirut, between Minister Chehayeb, Interior Minister Nouhad al-Mashnouq and the Union of Akkar Municipalities, as well as mayors and deputies from the region.

The discussions during the meeting focused on highlighting the difference between the hazardous dumpsites and sanitary landfills.

In this regard, Minister Chehayeb stressed the need for partnership in order to find a radical solution for the current trash crisis, reiterating the importance of communicating with the Bekaa residents and all the Lebanese communities in order to explain his plan to treat the waste issue.

“My plan could be the last chance of a solution for the waste crisis,” he said.
