Foreign Minister Bassil rejects media campaigns against him

Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil dubbed on Tuesday as "lies" media reports that stated he owned a private jet and property worth millions of dollars, saying he won't allow such campaigns to prevent him from carrying out his duties.

"We can't accept that these campaigns will prevent us from doing our work," Bassil, who is also the head of the Free Patriotic Movement, said at a press conference following the Change and Reform Bloc weekly meeting.

He said he earned some assets on his own through his past work as a civil engineer and from inheritances.

He also threatened to file a lawsuit against media that publish such allegations.
