Kataeb party Chief MP Sami Gemayel stressed Monday that those obstructing the institutions, boycotting presidential elections and violating the constitution are held responsible for the status quo.
He added that in case any legislation is to be made in the absence of president, such act would undermine the president’s prerogatives and constitutes an unconstitutional measure.
MP Gemayel said that declaring a state of emergency is unjustified, stressing that the only problem is the refusal to elect a new president.
On another note, he pointed out that “the state is bankrupt, yet it tends to borrow money to fund unnecessary projects.”
