LF media official Melhem Riachi to LBCI: LF did not refuse or accept Frangieh’s candidacy

Lebanese Forces media official Melhem Riachi said on Saturday that the partisans of March 14 camp do not favor the idea of MP Sleiman Frangieh’s candidacy for the presidency because he is close to the Syrian regime and president Bashar al-Assad.

Riachi’s comments were made during an interview with Nharkom Said TV show whereby he noted that the Lebanese Forces party did not refuse or accept Frangieh’s candidacy.

He also stressed that contacts are still ongoing with Future Movement leader former Prime Minister Saad Hariri.
