Charbel: Rifi and Hassan to retain their posts

Interior Minister Marwan Charbel said Sunday that the state remains the sole reference for the Lebanese, confirming that the security situation in Lebanon is good.

“Real security threats do not lie in individual incidents, yet in having people build barricades and barriers”, Charbel told Voice of Lebanon, adding the Lebanese should be aware that they “live in bliss” and that politics is the sole disruptive factor.

When asked about the controversial security appointments, Charbel confirmed that Internal Security Forces chief Ashraf Rifi and the head of the ISF Intelligence Bureau Wissam al-Hassan will retain their posts.
