EDL contract workers cling on to their 50-day-long strike

Since the beginning of the EDL contract workers’ strike, Hassan Hamoud has not earned a “penny” of his salary, as he told LBCI.

Hassan, an EDL contract worker, usually earns 28,000 LBP per working day which means that he receives 820,000 LBP in exchange for 30 working days. Norma and Rosette, two sisters and administrative workers, are “in the same boat” as they also financially support their parents.

It is worth mentioning that, on Friday, the EDL contract workers will have been unemployed for 50 consecutive days, thus with no income. However, they still cling on to their strike.
