Rai celebrates Mass in Turkey

Patriarch Bechara Rai kicked off the third day of his visit to Turkey where he met with Christian pastorals in which he preached on the lives of Saints Peter and Paul and their relationship with Antioch.

From Turkey, the Patriarch called for an “Arab Spring” that would harbor democracy and coexistence between Christians and Muslims alike.

He then participated in a meeting of Christian Upbringing Foundation alongside Maronite groups which came especially from Lebanon to participate in the mass to be headed by the Patriarch in the Grotto of St. Peter in Antioch drilled in the side of Mount since the days of Peter the Apostle.

The church which has been rated as an historical site bares witness to yearly celebratory masses in honor of Saints Peter and Paul.
